Clear+Brilliant

WHAT IS CLEAR + BRILLIANT?

Clear + Brilliant is a version of the Fraxel system meant for people with sensitive skin. It serves the same purposes as the standard Fraxel treatment and is equally-validated by clinical studies— which show a marked reduction in wrinkles, improvements to skin tone and texture, and less-visible pores (under optimal treatment conditions).

HOW DOES CLEAR + BRILLIANT WORK?

Just like Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant uses a laser light array to create microscopic “treatment zones” in the surface of your skin, which stimulates the creation of new tissue.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT CLEAR = BRILLIANT?

Clear + Brilliant is a mild laser treatment and can be used for sensitive conditions like melasma. We also recommend it to patients who have not received laser treatment before or are looking to address emerging signs of aging.

A Few FAQs About Laser Treatments

Are Laser Treatments Suitable for All Skin Types?

Laser treatments can be customized to suit various skin types, but certain lasers are better suited for specific skin tones. Deeper skin tones are more prone to hyperpigmentation with certain lasers, so choosing the appropriate type of laser and the right settings is essential for safety and effectiveness. At Bellaire Dermatology, we assess each patient’s unique skin type and recommend the best treatment options to promote optimal results with minimal side effects.

How Should I Prepare My Skin Before My Treatment?

Preparation helps make laser facial treatments more effective and reduces potential side effects. Patients should avoid direct sun exposure, tanning products, and any exfoliating treatments for at least a week before their session since these can make the skin more sensitive. It’s also best to avoid certain skincare products like retinoids or strong acids which can increase skin sensitivity. Arriving with clean, makeup-free skin allows for the most streamlined treatment.

What Is the Typical Recovery Process for Laser Treatments?

Recovery depends on the type of laser used, with ablative lasers requiring more downtime than non-ablative options. After non-ablative laser facial treatments, patients may experience mild redness or swelling, which typically subsides within a day or two. Ablative lasers may lead to a few days of peeling or flaking as the skin regenerates.

How Many Laser Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments depends on the specific skin concerns and the type of laser used. Some patients see visible improvements after just one session, especially with more intense treatments like CO2 lasers. However, for gradual improvements or maintenance, a series of three to six sessions spaced several weeks apart may be recommended. During a consultation, we can provide a plan for you based on your goals and skin type.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Results vary depending on the treatment and skin type. For many patients, the benefits of laser treatments such as smoother skin texture and reduced pigmentation, can last several months to a year. Factors like sun exposure, aging, and skincare routines can influence how long results remain visible. Regular maintenance sessions can help extend the results and keep the skin looking its best over time.
